About the team
Our team is made up of three permanent staff members, including our Immunisation Team Leader and immunisation administration staff.  We have a team of casual immunisation nurses, who have a variety of experience. 

About the role
In this role, you will deliver safe and effective vaccination services across a variety of settings within the Gen Eira Municipality. You will attend day and evening immunisation sessions during weekdays, with some weekend work as required.

As part of your clinical responsibilities, you will administer or assist with the administration of vaccines in full accordance with the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI), the Australian Immunisation Handbook, and the National Vaccine Storage Guidelines: Strive for 5. You will also ensure that all practice aligns with Glen Eira City Council’s immunisation policies and procedures.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Preparing medical supplies, equipment and vaccines for each immunisation session.
  • Assisting with the setting up and packing of each immunisation venue.
  • Vaccinating clients in accordance with Victorian National Immunisation schedule, guidelines and procedures.
  • Advising and provide information on vaccinations to clients and their families
  • Promoting and advocate Glen Eira City Council’s immunisation service

About you
You are a friendly, calm natured individual with excellent customer service skills. You present with a positive attitude and will embrace Glen Eira’s council values of Service Excellence, Integrity, Innovation, Collaboration and Respect.

Your ability to connect with a broad range of people and provide a high level of education and advice to clients will be integral to succeed in this role.  Accurate, timely electronic documentation of client immunisation records will be an essential part of your day‑to‑day work, along with maintaining high standards of health, safety, and professional conduct at all times. The role may also involve engagement with external stakeholders, requiring strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.

Casual Employment – This is a casual position and will work on an “as required” basis. Shifts will range from 2-4 hours in duration between Monday-Friday and some Saturdays across multiple venues within the municipality.  There is no guarantee of ongoing work with Council.

The following is also required:

  • Tertiary nursing qualifications and current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with Nurse Immuniser Accreditation
  • Fulfil AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency) requirements for annual CPD (continuous professional development) hours
  • Current CPR Certificate
  • Current Managing Immunisation Emergencies Certificate
  • Victorian Driver’s license
