About the role
As an Enhanced Maternal and Child Health (EMCH) Nurse, you will provide flexible, targeted and intensive support to vulnerable families experiencing early parenting challenges. In this vital role, you will contribute to the goals of the Victorian Enhanced Maternal and Child Health Program by improving the health, safety and development of children across Glen Eira.

Other responsibilities include: 

  • Meet the aims of the Victorian Enhanced Maternal and Child Health (EMCH) Program, which is to improve the health and wellbeing of children by providing focused, flexible and intensive support for vulnerable families experiencing significant early parenting difficulties and children identified as being at risk of harm.
  • Provide a tiered, comprehensive and focused approach for the early intervention and prevention of physical, emotional and social issues affecting young children and their families and ensure appropriate and timely referrals.
  • Target vulnerable families through participation in evidence-based group programs across the service

About you
You are a compassionate and skilled maternal and child health professional who connects easily with families and supports them with empathy and confidence. With strong communication, clinical skills and judgement, and a collaborative approach, you work effectively with colleagues and external services to improve outcomes for vulnerable families.

The following is also required:

  • Registration as a Division 1 Registered Nurse and Midwife with recognised Maternal and Child Health Qualifications or equivalent.
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated experience working in Maternal and Child Health Services.
  • Previous Enhanced Maternal and Child Health experience desired but not essential.
  • Current Drivers Licence and own vehicle.
