About the role
As the People Development Officer you will be responsible for providing human resources, recruitment and training support for Glen Eira Leisure (GEL).  The role coordinates Glen Eira Leisure’s recruitment and induction process as well as the learning and development programs across a portfolio.

In consultation with the People Development Coordinator, the role provides guidance and advice to staff on HR related queries, staff performance, engagement and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate GEL’s recruitment process, in collaboration with GEL department leaders and People and Culture peers.
  • Coordinate and oversee delivery of GEL’s Induction program and staff uniform. 
  • Coordinate, develop, deliver and evaluate GEL’s training and development programs. 
  • Coordinate work experience and traineeship program for the relevant team. 
  • Review and monitor all training delivery in consultation with department leaders to ensure it meets all relevant standards and is in line with industry best practice. 
  • Maintain accurate staff records including: Hiring, training, performance appraisals and training records.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant (HR-focused) qualifications OR relevant experience commensurate with the requirements of this role. 
  • Ability to demonstrate experience in recruitment processes, with a strong focus on onboarding, training, and development of employees.   
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to provide guidance, advice and information to staff.
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort with data analysis would be highly regarded.
  • Experience in high volume recruitment within the leisure industry would be highly regarded.
