About the Role
As the Wellness Assistant Team Leader, you will support the Wellness Team Leader in the day-to-day delivery of high-quality wellness programs across Glen Eira Leisure. You will assist with staffing, timetabling, instructor support and ongoing program development to ensure members receive exceptional wellness experiences.
Working closely with Wellness Instructors and key stakeholders, you will provide leadership, guidance and operational support while contributing to service excellence, continuous improvement and positive health and wellbeing outcomes for our community.
The role combines people leadership, administrative coordination and direct program delivery, making it an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about wellness and fitness who is looking to further develop their leadership career.
Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Support Wellness Instructors through day-to-day leadership, guidance, mentoring and operational support.

Staffing and Timetabling: Assist with staffing, timetabling and instructor coverage to ensure programs operate effectively across multiple sites.

Instructor Development: Support instructor onboarding, training and ongoing professional development.

Program Delivery: Provide specialist support relating to wellness programs, instructor practices and customer outcomes.

Performance Monitoring: Monitor class attendance, participation trends and customer feedback to identify opportunities for service improvement.

Program Growth: Support the delivery of new programs, promotions, special events and community-based initiatives.

Customer Service: Assist in maintaining a welcoming, professional and customer-focused environment and support complaint resolution where required.

Administration: Assist with record keeping, staff communications and reporting requirements.

Safety and Compliance: Ensure wellness studios and programs meet organisational policies, procedures and safety standards.

Direct Service Delivery: Deliver wellness classes and provide direct program support as required.

Skills and Experience
- Experience delivering wellness, group exercise or health-focused programs.
- Experience supporting, supervising or mentoring staff in a leisure, fitness or customer service environment.
- Knowledge of wellness and mind-body programs including Yoga, Pilates, Meditation and related offerings.
- Experience coordinating class timetables, instructor coverage and program resources.
- Strong customer service, communication and stakeholder relationship skills.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor program performance and implement service improvements.
- Well-developed organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution and complaint-handling skills.
- Proficiency in computer systems, administration and operational record keeping.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety, risk management and child safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Certificate III in Fitness.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
