About the team
The Planning & Building Services Department provides statutory services for the built environment and planning regulations within Glen Eira. There are three teams within the Department, being:
The work done by the team includes processing and assessing building related and planning applications including pre-applications, conducting site inspections, facilitating the public notification of planning applications meetings, issuing notices of decisions, conducting planning appeals, answering queries and preparing relevant reports as required. The team also administers and enforces planning and building legislation and represents Council at VCAT, VBA and in courts.
About the role
As a Business Support Officer, you will provide essential administrative and operational support to the Planning and Building Services team. Your responsibilities will include assisting with planning applications, building regulations, and supporting the team in day-to-day service delivery tasks as referenced above.

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive individual with strong administrative skills. You will have excellent attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and the confidence to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.
