About the role

The Payroll Systems Administrator plays a key role in supporting Council’s payroll operations, which service approximately 1455 employees. Using systems including PayGlobal, Humanforce and Employee Self Service, this role ensures payroll processes are accurate, efficient and well supported across the organisation.

You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing Council’s payroll systems, providing expert advice, and delivering high quality support to internal users. The role also focuses on improving system capability, streamlining processes and supporting the payroll team to deliver reliable, compliant and customer focused services.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Managing the technical and functional operation of Council’s payroll systems.
  • Supporting system related projects, new initiatives and product implementation.
  • Producing payroll and management reports.
  • Providing system analysis, troubleshooting, maintenance and user support.
  • Developing system enhancements, process automation and integrations.
  • Ensuring data integrity, security and accurate system configuration.
  • Delivering Helpdesk and training services to internal users.

About you

You are a proactive and solutions focused systems professional who enjoys combining technical expertise with customer focused support. You’re confident working in complex payroll or HRIS environments and have a strong eye for detail, data accuracy and process improvement. You thrive on solving problems, improving systems and helping others make the most of the tools available to them.

You will bring:

  • Experience working with payroll, HRIS or business application systems.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll compliance requirements, ability to interpret awards, legislation, and other statutory requirements
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, including experience managing system configurations, security access and data integrity.
  • A passion for improving processes, automating workflows and enhancing system capability.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to train, support and guide users.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple business units.
  • A customer focused approach, with a commitment to delivering high quality service.
