About the team
The Sustainability and Infrastructure Team is responsible for helping Glen Eira implement its response to climate change and other sustainability issues, through both asset and non-asset-based approaches. The work done by various members of the team includes promoting the principles of Integrated water management and running a range of waste management and recycling services for the community.
About the role
Our Litter Action Plan Officer will be at the forefront of developing and delivering priority actions identified to tackle litter. This position will be chairing the Elster Creek Litter Collaboration Working Group, bringing together stakeholders to coordinate initiatives that reduce litter and prevent it from entering our stormwater system.
You will be responsible for consolidating all initiatives into a comprehensive Litter Action Plan. This will involve strategic thinking, along with the development and execution of communication, engagement, and/or enforcement strategies aimed at educating the community about the impacts of their actions.

About you
We are looking for someone with a history in litter, waste, or water management, plus previous experience of managing projects and working amongst different stakeholders. You are confident in using data to guide your decisions and have great communication skills, whether it’s writing reports, creating briefing documents, or engaging with the public.
