About the role
As a Casual Information Services Officer, you will provide professional information services and responsive customer support across all Glen Eira library branches. Working rostered shifts, you will help maximise community access and satisfaction by delivering courteous, knowledgeable assistance in a welcoming library environment.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Deliver high quality information and readers advisory services to customers using a range of information resources including books, online resources and referral to other appropriate agencies.
  • When rostered as the Person in Charge, ensure the effective management of the branch by directing staff and reporting building, cleaning and maintenance issues.
  • Perform a range of rostered library operations that support customers in a self-service environment based on a high level of knowledge of library products and services, including promotion and provision of assistance accessing all eResources.
  • Where required, provide support and undertake duties in other library areas to meet the operational requirements of Glen Eira Libraries and deliver quality customer service to the community.  You may be required to work weekdays, evenings and weekends at any branch of Glen Eira Libraries according to a roster.

About you
You are a customer focused professional with a passion for delivering high-quality library services. With strong communication skills, you are comfortable working across multiple library branches and thrive in a dynamic, team-based environment.

The following is also required:

  • Librarian or Library Technician qualification acceptable for membership of the Australian Library and Information Association
  • Relevant customer service experience in supporting community focused services in education, information or technology.
  • Current Drivers License
