About the team
The Healthy Ageing team has been newly formed due to recent department realignment. The position will report to the Senior Coordinator Healthy Ageing. The team also includes Senior Community Partnerships Officer (who will oversee Moorleigh Community Village), Healthy Ageing Administration Officer (responsible for Council’s 64 Independent Living Units and Community Bus hire program), and the Healthy Ageing and Active Officer (who will provide support and advice on a range of healthy and active ageing initiatives including support for senior citizens groups).
About the role
As the Healthy Ageing Liaison Officer (HALO), you will play a vital role in fostering connections between Glen Eira City Council, community organizations, and health services to enhance the quality of life for older adults in our community. You will coordinate programs and services that promote healthy ageing, ensuring that older residents have access to the resources and support they need to lead active and fulfilling lives. In addition, the role will also be providing support to carers who play a critical role in our community for all age groups.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the challenges faced by older adults and a passion for fostering a healthy and supportive community, while also recognizing the role that caregivers play within it. With your strong interpersonal skills and effective listening skills, you will engage diverse stakeholders and drive positive change.
