About the role
As a Facilities Services Officer, you’ll be one of the friendly, reliable faces behind the day-to-day operations of the Council facilities. Working across Glen Eira Town Hall and a range of Council‑managed venues, you’ll help ensure every space is safe, welcoming and ready for use.

This is a hands‑on, people‑focused role where no two days are the same. One moment you might be setting up a room for a staff meeting at Caulfield Park Pavilion, the next you’ll be helping a hirer with equipment for an event at Town Hall.

If you’re someone who enjoys physical work, engaging with a wide range of people and taking pride in well‑run spaces, this is the job for you.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Set up and pack down meeting rooms and event spaces, including furniture, audio‑visual equipment and catering areas
  • Be a key point of contact for venue users, providing friendly, responsive and professional customer service
  • Maintain venue presentation through cleaning, inspections and fixing or reporting maintenance or safety issues
  • Support events and daily operations to ensure facilities are safe, functional and ready for use
  • Act as Fire Warden and follow emergency and OH&S procedures
  • Work collaboratively with Council staff, contractors and hirers to deliver positive venue experiences

Hours of work: Shifts can vary and may include mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.

About you

  • You enjoy hands‑on work and staying active while on the job
  • You bring a friendly, customer‑focused approach and enjoy helping people
  • You’re able to safely perform physical duties, including moving furniture and standing for extended periods
  • You can think on your feet and troubleshoot calmly when challenges arise
  • You can work confidently on your own while also being a supportive team member
  • You understand the importance of safety and follow OH&S and emergency procedures
  • You have a valid Victoria Drivers Licence.

Not meeting all the requirements for this role? We value diverse experiences for positive community outcomes. If you're excited about the position but don't perfectly align with the criteria, we still encourage you to apply.
