  • Band 4: $72k - $77k per annum (depending on experience) + superannuation 

About the role 
The Planning & Building Business Support Officer role provides administrative and customer service support to assist in the delivery of services within the Planning & Building Services Business Unit. This includes responding to enquiries from the public in person, by telephone, email, and through other Council customer service channels.

Other responsibilities include:   

  • Provide high quality customer service to internal and external customers, handling enquiries in person, by phone and online.
  • Provide timely and accurate administrative support across Planning and Building Services, including permit processing, data entry, correspondence, record management, investigations, enforcement documentation.
  • Assist Coordinators, Managers and the broader Planning and Building team through report preparation, minute‑taking, statutory processes, and general administration, contributing to an integrated and collaborative service delivery approach.

About you
You demonstrate a high level of communication and interpersonal capability, enabling effective, and empathetic engagement with members of the public. You are a highly motivated individual who is capable of working autonomously, consistently producing accurate work to a professional standard. You also possess demonstrated knowledge of planning and building processes.

The following is also required: 

  • Substantial experience in a customer orientated role.
  • Relevant previous experience working within a similar role.
