Our Strategic Asset Management team is responsible for guiding how assets are planned, invested in, and managed to support resilient services now and into the future. We combine strategic thinking, technical expertise, and strong stakeholder engagement to influence decisions that matter.

About the role
Our Coordinator Strategic Asset Management is responsible for leading Council’s strategic asset management framework to support sustainable service delivery, climate resilience, risk management and legislative compliance. The role provides high‑level leadership across asset planning, systems, data, governance and capital works planning, with a strong focus on service and asset integration.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced asset or infrastructure professional to step into a key leadership role and make a lasting contribution to Glen Eira’s long‑term service and infrastructure outcomes.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Developing, managing and evaluating the asset management policy, strategy and portfolio related plans.
  • Creating and embedding best practice strategic asset management systems and processes.
  • Analysing asset management data to inform the Financial Plan, Asset Plan, and monitoring the renewal gap.
  • Developing and enhancing asset information to support asset and service integration, including ‘Fit for Purpose’ auditing based on asset functionality, condition, capacity and utilisation.

About you
You are an experienced asset management/infrastructure professional ready to apply your expertise in a permanent, strategic leadership role. With a strong foundation in asset management, engineering and infrastructure planning, you are comfortable influencing at a senior level and contributing to organisation‑wide outcomes.

You bring a sound understanding of strategic asset management principles, including sustainable service delivery, risk-based decision making, and lifecycle planning. You are proactive, analytical, and collaborative, and you value working in an environment that supports continuous improvement.

The following is also required:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering or equivalent competency and experience.
  • Extensive experience in civil engineering, project management, and asset management.
  • High‑level analytical, modelling, and problem‑solving capability.
