About the role
As a Senior Urban Planner in local government, you will play a key role in delivering professional, solution-focused planning services that support the orderly land use and development within the City of Glen Eira. With a strong commitment to customer service, you will help shape vibrant, well-designed communities where people can live, work, and play.

Other responsibilities include:

  • To process and prepare recommendations for planning applications and requests with a focus on negotiating well informed and quality planning outcomes.
  • To contribute to the delivery of a customer centric, efficient and effective planning service, where decisions are made within the scope of your authority.
  • Prepare and present planning submissions at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, Planning Panels and Magistrate’s Court or other proceedings.
  • To stay up to date and be informed about changes to planning legislation, policy, processes and procedures and to shape your own continual professional development.

About you
You are a highly motivated and experienced planning professional with a strong understanding of urban development and land use policy. You thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and are committed to delivering high-quality, efficient planning outcomes. Your strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills enable you to support great community-focused planning.

The following is also required:

  • A tertiary qualification in town planning or a related field.
  • A strong knowledge of relevant planning legislation.
  • Relevant experience and demonstrated expertise in town planning practice, preferably in local government.
