About the role
As the Family Day Care Team Leader, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care and educational programs for children and families. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the family day care scheme, developing, implementing practices and procedures, and fostering a positive and inclusive environment for children, staff, families and contracted educators. This position is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families in our community.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Managing the Family Day Care scheme’s compliance and preparing performance monitoring reports required by Council.
  • Planning and monitoring high quality home based education and care in the City of Glen Eira, where children's overall physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs are met.
  • Consulting with service users and stakeholders in reviewing practices and procedures.
  • Facilitating communication between parents, contracted educators, and staff through regular newsletter production and appropriate written information.

About you
You are a passionate and experienced early childhood professional with a strong commitment to child development and family support. You possess excellent leadership skills and a collaborative spirit, allowing you to inspire and guide the team effectively.

The following is also required:

  • Tertiary qualifications in early years education and care.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in family and children’s services.
  • Experience in budget monitoring and reporting.
  • Experience in staff management (including supervision of contractors).
  • Current driver’s licence is essential
