About the role
As an Arts and Events Officer, you will play a hands-on role in bringing our events, programs and exhibitions to life, ensuring each one is delivered seamlessly from start to finish.

You will assist with event setups and pack-downs ensuring the venue is presented at its best. As a key point of contact for our guests, you will confidently manage enquiries, support their experience, and uphold the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and professionalism.

The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment, is reliable and adaptable, and takes pride in delivering exceptional service.

Shifts will be rostered across weekdays, evenings, and weekends, depending on operational and event requirements.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Greeting and directing guests
  • Answering visitor questions and responding to access needs.
  • Assisting in the set-up, pack-down and clean up (eg. chairs, tables, marquees, signage.)
  • Providing supervision of artworks, displays, exhibitions and activities in the Glen Eira City Council Gallery.
  • Supporting artists, contractors, suppliers and other staff.

About you
You are a reliable and enthusiastic team player who enjoys working in fast‑paced, people‑focused environments. With a strong customer service mindset, you take pride in helping events run smoothly and ensuring a positive experience for all attendees. You’re adaptable, proactive, and comfortable jumping in wherever support is needed on the day.

You communicate clearly, work well under pressure, and remain calm and professional when priorities change. Previous experience in events, hospitality, or customer service is desirable but not essential - your positive attitude, willingness to learn and passion for Arts and Culture are what matter most.

Not meeting all the requirements for this role? We value diverse experiences for positive community outcomes. If you're excited about the position but don't perfectly align with the criteria, we still encourage you to apply.
