  • Band 6 role, $94K - $103K per annum (dependent on experience) + superannuation

About the role
The Branch Team Leader works as part of a dynamic leadership team and oversees the daily operations of the Carnegie/Caulfield Libraries. This includes leading a team to deliver outstanding customer service and actively contributing to the continuous improvement process for the library service.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Plan, organise and supervise branch operations, presentation and workflow to ensure a positive and welcoming customer experience and access to collections and facilities
  • Plan and review rosters and workflow to ensure deployment of staff in the branch in the most efficient way possible
  • Manage events and programs delivered in the branch, including babytime and storytime sessions, holiday events and other programs
  • Lead, motivate and supervise staff in an open and collaborative team environment
  • Work evenings, weekends and at any branch of the Library Service as required

As a Branch Team Leader, you are a dynamic and proactive individual who thrives on building strong connections within the community. You have a deep passion for libraries and their potential to empower individuals through access to information, resources, and education.
Your leadership style is both supportive and inspiring, motivating your team to achieve the best, while fostering an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere for all library users.

The following is also required:

  • Degree or diploma in librarianship with eligibility for professional membership of ALIA
  • Experience in managing the day to day operations of a library or equivalent workplace
  • Experience in managing teams, training, supervising and directing staff
  • Experience in providing professional and responsive customer and information services
