  • Part time permanent role (15.2 hours per week)
  • $48.01 - $52.38 per hour (dependent on experience) + superannuation

About the role
As an Events Advisor, you will provide support, advice and establish systems and processes to enable the delivery of high quality events across the Council. The role will ensure a streamlined, positive and systematic approach for Glen Eira events.
The role will work closely with and contribute to the overall work of the Arts and Culture team to achieve organisational outcomes.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Provide expert advice and guidance to internal teams on high quality event planning and delivery, ensuring alignment with Council’s vision and objectives, community engagement goals and risk management.
  • Deliver training sessions, workshops, or one-on-one support to build internal staff capability in event planning, compliance, and best practices.
  • Provide advice on budgeting for events, assist with cost estimates, and ensure financial accountability and value for money in event delivery.

The following is also required:

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline plus experience or less formal qualification with substantial relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and delivering a range of public events, preferably within a local government or community setting.
  • Strong understanding of compliance requirements, including permits, risk assessments, and public safety regulations.
