About the role
Our Team Leader Customer Service will support our high performing Customer Experience Agents to deliver exceptional customer service to the residents of the Glen Eira City Council community.

Your leadership will directly influence the effectiveness of front-of-house and contact centre operations, working closely with the Coordinator Customer Experience Operations and internal departments to deliver improvements that make a significant impact and promote service excellence.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Building strong, collaborative relationships across departments to enhance service delivery and the customer journey
  • Providing hands-on support in the contact centre, guiding staff through complex customer enquiries and escalations.
  • Overseeing quality assurance, regularly monitoring staff performance, and ensuring service standards are consistently met.
  • Driving staff development through training, coaching, and induction programs.

About you
You will possess a natural ability to lead, and are comfortable guiding a team through challenges, change, and growth. You know how to support staff development through structured training/ informal mentoring and understand how to enhance the customer experience.

You can engage confidently with all people, whether you're working with internal teams or helping resolve a customer issue. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in your ability to stay calm, organised, and focused.

The following is also required:

  • Completion of a tertiary qualification with little or relevant customer service management experience, or lesser formal qualification with relevant work experience and skills.
  • Ability to successfully assist with and lead change with a focus on the customer experience, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering quality customer service within a complex environment.
