About the team
Glen Eira City Councils Parks Services Department is looking for Sports Liaison Officer who is driven to promote strong connections between the Council and local sporting clubs, associations, and recreational groups.

There are many roles in our dedicated sports turf and facilities crew, maintaining such facilities throughout the municipality. The team is dedicated to enhancing community sports facilities through effective coordination, management, and support.

About the role
We are seeking a highly driven and experienced individual to oversee booking for sports grounds and pavilions, whilst building relationships with community groups and stakeholders. As a key member of our team, you will ensure the effective management of facilities, oversee the Sport and Recreation Officer, and provide exceptional service to the community.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the primary communication link between Council and local sporting clubs, associations and recreational groups.
  • Coordinate the ongoing management and maintenance of the IMS booking system for the Recreation and Open Space Department, including annual upgrades and improvements as required.
  • Manage and administer seasonal allocation licences and casual bookings of community sporting clubs, associations, schools, commercial groups and other community groups.

About you
We are looking for someone who is passionate about enhancing the sporting landscape and supporting the recreational needs of our community. If you have a proven record of accomplishment in sports facility management and maintenance activities, we want to hear from you!

The following is also required:

  • Relevant qualification within the Sport and Recreation industry, or substantial experience in sports club administration or community-based organisations.
  • Demonstrated experience in liaising and working with a variety of community sport and recreation groups.
  • Broad knowledge and extensive experience in managing all aspects of the public realm of sports grounds, turf and facilities management and maintenance. 
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating and prioritising multiple tasks.
