        About the role
        As the Youth Development Officer (Schools), you will play a key role in building and maintaining Glen Eira Youth Services network and relationships with local schools. Working closely with the Youth Services Coordinator, you’ll plan, coordinate and facilitate School-based programs and initiatives, provide support, information and referral through our one-on-one support program, and help create a safe, inclusive and empowering environment for young people through our everyday operations.

        • Build strong networks and develop sustainable relationships with Glen Eira schools.
        • A dynamic role with events, outreach & community engagement - no two days are the same!
        • Be part of an inclusive, youth‑focused team that values creativity, collaboration and continuous improvement.

        Other responsibilities include:

        • Coordinate and deliver youth events and programs, with a strong focus on Glen Eira schools.
        • Support the daily operations of the Youth Information Centre.
        • Provide information, support, advocacy and referrals to young people, parents, volunteers and youth workers.

        What you will bring

        • A passion for supporting young people and creating inclusive, empowering spaces.
        • Experience coordinating youth programs, events or community activities.
        • Confident facilitation and presentation skills.
        • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills, especially with schools and community services.
        • Experience conducting one on one support appointments, providing information, support, referrals, conducting safety planning and completing any necessary reporting.  
        • Confidence in case noting and record management.
        • Tertiary qualification in Youth Work or related field
