About the role
As an Urban Planner, you’ll help shape Glen Eira’s future by assessing planning applications, providing expert advice, and delivering a customer-focused planning service. Your work will ensure our city remains vibrant, sustainable, and liveable for generations to come.

Other responsibilities include:

• Assess planning applications and prepare recommendations
• Negotiate outcomes to achieve high-quality planning decisions
• Deliver efficient, customer-centric planning services within your scope of authority.
• Prepare and present planning submissions at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal or other proceedings, with the guidance of the Coordinator Urban Planning.

What you will bring
We’re looking for a proactive planner who thrives on collaboration and values sustainable urban development.

You’ll bring:

• A tertiary qualification in town planning or a related field or relevant experience
• Basic knowledge of relevant planning legislation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.

Interview information
In order to best manage the selection process, all shortlisted candidates will be contacted before 5pm on Friday, 10th July 2026, to arrange an interview. The interviews will take place in person or by video conference.

The interviews will take place between Monday, 13th July 2026 and Friday, 17th July 2026, between 9am and 5pm.

Progressed candidates must undergo pre-employment screening as a standard procedure which will include National Police Record Check and evidence of right to work in Australia.
