About the role 
We are looking for an experienced engineer to take charge of our Transport and Stormwater asset portfolio. Guiding strategy, innovation, and long-term planning that makes a difference in the Glen Eira community. 

You will be integrating climate risk into the lifecycle planning of our civil assets while also providing expert advice across the organisation on transport and stormwater management. 

Other responsibilities include: 

  • Leading the development and implementation of capital works strategies, including flooding mitigation and WSUD integration. 

  • Collaborating with service authorities and agencies to deliver community focused outcomes. 

  • Continuously improving Council’s transport and stormwater renewal programs. 

  • Providing technical input on drainage, subdivision approvals, and civil infrastructure. 

About you  
Your technical expertise will be vital in managing data collection contracts, assessing drainage and subdivision proposals, and investigating flooding issues with a climate resilient lens.  

You will have a strong background in Civil or Environmental Engineering, and experience in asset planning and strategy. You will also bring familiarity in engineering processes such as condition audits, risk assessment, lifecycle modelling, flood modelling, and a deep understanding of Australian Standards and infrastructure legislation. 

The following is also required: 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering, with relevant experience and skills in Civil Asset Planning/Strategy and Asset Management. 

  • Experience and knowledge in the development and review of Road Management Plan, Road Register, Capital Works Programs, Policies, Asset Management Plans and Stormwater & Flood Management Strategy. 

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills that provide innovative solutions. 

  • Excellent written and well-developed verbal communication and negotiation skills.

The interviews will take place between Monday, 24 November and Thursday, 27 November 2025, between 9am and 5pm.
