Key Responsibilities

As GELSwim Team Leader, you'll leverage your proven leadership skills to inspire and manage a dynamic team, drive continuous growth and ensure the success of the Learn to Swim program at GESAC and Carnegie Memorial Swimming Pool.

This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your expertise in staff development, customer service and program management, while leading by example in a fast-paced, customer focused environment. Key duties of the role include:

  • Lead and develop the GELSwim team to deliver high quality aquatic programs, fostering a safe, inclusive and engaging environment.
  • Maintain service excellence by ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and performance standards across both sites.
  • Support the planning, delivery and promotion of Learn to Swim and Squad programs, contributing to marketing and community engagement.
  • Manage staff rosters and respond to customer feedback to ensure smooth operations and consistently positive experiences.
  • Contribute to business planning and budgeting, helping shape the future of aquatic services at Glen Eira Leisure.

 

Roster requirements

As part of this role, you will also be required to perform direct service as either a GELSwim Instructor or GELSwim Shift Supervisor. You will be rostered 1 day per week of direct service.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven leadership experience and achievement in the leisure industry and/or relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • Demonstrated experience in a customer service focused role.
  • First Aid and CPR qualifications
  • Austswim Certificate of Swimming and Water Safety
  • Austswim Extension Certificates (Desirable)
