About the role
Do you thrive on bringing order to complexity? Love juggling projects, coordinating people, improving processes and making things happen behind the scenes? No two days are the same in this dynamic role!

In this role you will provide administrative, business and project support across Parks Services. As the Manager's go-to support person, you will help keep the department organised, informed and moving forward. This means you'll often be trusted with confidential information, draft important documents and work across a range of operational, financial and people-related matters. We're looking for someone who combines excellent organisational skills with professionalism and sound judgement.

If you're someone who enjoys variety, loves solving problems and takes pride in helping others succeed, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide business, administrative and project support across the Parks Services Department.
  • Coordinate reporting, governance, business planning and continuous improvement activities.
  • Manage meetings, documentation, priorities and confidential information to support departmental operations.
  • Support financial and contract administration processes, including purchasing, invoicing, auditing and reporting.
  • Monitor and coordinate customer and Councillor requests to ensure timely outcomes.
  • Build positive relationships with staff, contractors, community groups, sporting clubs and other stakeholders.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and support to the Administration Officer.

About Parks Services
Parks Services is responsible for maintaining and improving some of Glen Eira's most valued community assets. From sportsgrounds, playgrounds and parks to trees, biodiversity and public open space, our teams help create places where the community can play, connect and thrive.

We're a large and diverse department made up of horticulture, biodiversity, urban forest, sports turf, facilities and asset management professionals. Behind every great team is great support and that's where you come in.

About You
You are someone who enjoys being the person others rely on. You're highly organised, calm under pressure and capable of managing competing priorities with confidence.

You exercise sound judgement, understand the importance of confidentiality and can be relied upon to manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion. You are comfortable working with a broad range of stakeholders and can adapt your approach to suit the situation, whether supporting a senior leader, coordinating a project or assisting a team member.

You will bring:

  • Experience in business support, administration, project coordination or a similar role.
  • Outstanding organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience working with business, financial or customer management systems.
  • Confidence coordinating multiple stakeholders and priorities.
  • A collaborative and positive approach to supporting teams and customers.

Why Join Us?
At Glen Eira, we know that great outcomes come from great people. Our values of Collaboration, Respect, Service Excellence, Integrity and Innovation guide how we work together every day.

In Parks Services you'll be part of a supportive, high-performing team that genuinely enjoys working together. You'll have opportunities to contribute ideas, lead improvements and make a real difference to how our department operates.

This is a role where no two days are the same. You'll have visibility across the entire department, work closely with leaders, contribute to meaningful projects and play a key role in supporting services that benefit the whole community.
