About the Role
As the Health and Wellness Coordinator, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across Glen Eira Leisure's Health and Wellness portfolio, including Health and Fitness, Group Exercise and Wellness programs.
You will drive participation and service excellence, lead service improvement initiatives, manage business performance and budgets, and ensure the delivery of contemporary, customer-focused services. The role also provides leadership to the Wellness Team Leader, Group Exercise Team Leader and Health and Fitness Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities

Health and Wellness Services: Oversee Health and Fitness, Group Exercise and Wellness programs, ensuring services respond to customer needs and industry trends.

Leadership: Lead, coach and develop the Health and Wellness team to deliver high-quality programs and services.

Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic, operational and business plans for Health and Wellness services.

Participation and Service Performance: Monitor participation, customer feedback, service performance and key performance indicators, implementing improvements as required.

Business and Financial Performance: Develop, monitor and forecast operational budgets in collaboration with the Business Operations Manager.

Stakeholder Relationships: Build productive relationships with members, instructors, suppliers, partners and internal stakeholders.

Contracts and Compliance: Manage supplier contracts, service agreements and compliance requirements.

Innovation and Promotion: Stay informed of industry trends and ensure marketing and promotional activities support participation and business objectives.

Governance and Safety: Ensure programs and services comply with relevant legislation, organisational policies and industry standards.

Skills and Experience
- Experience leading teams, programs or services within health, fitness, wellness, recreation or leisure environments.
- Strong leadership skills with experience coaching, mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
- Experience developing and managing operational budgets, forecasts and financial performance.
- Ability to analyse participation, customer and market data to inform planning and service improvement.
- Experience developing business plans, operational strategies, policies and procedures.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Knowledge of contemporary health, fitness and wellness trends, risk management, workplace health and safety, child safety and relevant legislation.
Qualifications
- Current Provide First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Recreation, Health, Fitness or a related discipline; or lesser formal qualifications with substantial relevant experience.
- Certificate III in Fitness, Fitness Leaders Course, Exercise to Music, Group Exercise Leader qualification or equivalent will be highly regarded
