Operating collaboratively across departments, the team prides itself on high-quality workmanship, responsiveness, and a commitment to community service.

About the role
We're looking for a proactive and reliable multi-skilled labourer to join our team. In this hands-on role, you’ll support a wide range of maintenance and improvement tasks across the municipality from signage maintenance and yard clean-ups to graffiti removal and drainage servicing.  You'll also take part in special projects aimed at enhancing the look and feel of our public spaces, help with stocktakes, and provide flexible support across teams as needed.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Operating various plant machinery and vehicles - including suction/crane trucks, high-pressure hoses, and heavy vehicles.
  • Performing general duties such as installing electronic signs, defect rectification, minor painting or staining works and yard clean-up.

  • Supporting stores operations through stocktake assistance and preparation of materials for scheduled works.

About you
You are a team player with strong communication skills and a proactive, can-do attitude. You thrive on variety in the workplace, take initiative, and value delivering quality outcomes to the community.

You work well both independently and as part of a team, following directions while showing initiative. Your ability to think creatively and solve problems on the spot allows you to adapt to changing priorities and find practical solutions.

You consistently maintain a high standard of work quality, paying close attention to detail and safety at all times.  Above all, you’re community-minded, respectful, and motivated to contribute positively to the local environment.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Current Drivers licence and Heavy Truck licence.
