About the role

We are seeking a detail oriented, organised and proactive individual to join our team. You will report to the Innovation and Administration Coordinator and assist in a range of duties including but not limited to:

  • Payroll Preparation: Prepare payroll and audit any payroll issues in coordination with GEL Coordinators and Team Leaders.
  • Invoice Processing: Raise purchase orders and process invoices for GEL teams using procurement and finance systems within given time frames to ensure prompt payment of accounts.
  • Quality Control: Support GEL Team Leaders and Coordinators with payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and diligence.
  • Quotation and Tender Processes: Complete quotation and tender processes for GEL, ensuring adequate supplier availability in line with council policy.
  • Vendor Management: Manage and administer vendors, including setup, contracts, and insurances.

 

Roster requirements

Due to fixed payroll and purchasing deadlines, this role requires availability every second Monday (pay week) and every Friday (purchasing). The position totals 45.6 hours per fortnight, which can be worked across three standard days per week or spread over four shorter days, to suit your preferred schedule.

Qualifications and experience

  • Experience in payroll, purchasing and/or procurement functions.
  • Experience interpreting Awards, Enterprise Agreements, Acts and Regulations.
  • Experience educating and training others on systems, policies and processes.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing process improvements and creating efficiencies using tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Automate and advanced Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • High level of organisation and time management skills, particularly when working to strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrated commitment to organisational values and professional behaviours.
