Job Details:

  • $32.10 per hour (including casual loading) + super (junior rates apply)

About the Role
As an Aquatic Education Teacher for Glen Eira Leisure, you will conduct swimming lessons for one of two School groups:

  • School intensive programs run Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 3:00pm during school terms; OR
  • Learn to Swim lessons run Monday to Friday in the mornings and after school as well as Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Your role will contribute to building the self-esteem of children, enhance their confidence and provide professional swimming and water safety instruction in a fun, safe and nurturing environment. We want swimming lessons to be the best part of a child's day!

We offer a unique opportunity to those wanting to become Aquatic Education Teachers by providing Swim Teacher qualifications for all successful candidates.

Successful candidates will have:

  • A passion for teaching children how to swim
  • A fun and positive demeanour that resonates with children
  • Ability to work in a team and help foster team goals
  • Well-developed supervision skills and customer service skills
  • Employee Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)

Important information
Short listed candidates will be invited to attend an interview and if successful you will also be required to attend the following Swim Teacher qualification course that will be subsidised by GESAC:

  • Wednesday 11 January 2023 from 9am to 5pm at GESAC

Swim Teacher training hours must be completed at GESAC within 3 weeks of course completion.
