About the role 
As Coordinator- Youth Services, you will coordinate the delivery, development and continuous improvement of Council’s Youth Services. You will lead staff, manage programs and partnerships, and ensure services meet legislative, policy and community needs. 

You will play a key role in shaping positive outcomes for young people through advocacy, engagement, programs, events, and strategic service development. 

Other responsibilities include: 

  • Provide strong operational leadership and specialist supervision to the Youth Services team, ensuring safe, compliant and high‑quality service delivery aligned with legislative and child‑safe requirements 

  • Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of Council’s Youth Services programs, events and facilities, including budget management, grants administration and coordinated responses to critical incidents 

  • Drive service development through strategic planning, policy improvement, risk management and securing external funding to meet the evolving needs of young people 

About you  
You are an experienced and values‑driven leader with a strong commitment to improving outcomes for young people. You bring a deep understanding of youth issues, sound judgement, and the ability to lead people, programs, and partnerships in a complex service environment. 

You will bring: 

  • Extensive experience delivering youth services, with a strong understanding of the needs, issues and aspirations of young people 

  • Proven leadership capability, including managing staff, budgets and service delivery, ideally within a local government or complex service environment 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Youth Work, Human Services or related field together with several years of relevant experience or lesser qualification with extensive relevant experience. 

  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills, with experience preparing clear reports, recommendations and funding submissions
