About the role
As part of the Community Safety and Compliance Department, the Business Support Officer provides essential administrative support to the Civic Compliance team, which oversees domestic animal management and enforcement of Council’s Local Laws. The role assists with tasks such as processing animal registrations, liaising with internal teams and contractors, and maintaining systems that support animal-related compliance and education initiatives.

Other responsibilities include:

  • To assist the general public with their enquiries both over the counter and by telephone.
  • Provide administrative support to the department’s leadership team.
  • Assist with the administration, data entry, invoicing and reporting functions for the Department.

About you
You are a detail-oriented administrator with strong communication skills and a proactive approach to supporting team operations. You enjoy working collaboratively, managing multiple tasks, and providing excellent customer service. Experience in compliance or animal management administration is a bonus.

The following is also required:

  • Relevant previous experience working within a similar role that has included maintenance and updates of enforcement/compliance related databases.
  • Experience in a customer orientated role.
  • Experience in the use of financial management, customer request or similar database software.
